Proteins are not always optimized for the desired function. So, with protein engineering we can use molecular biology to manipulate protein sequences to get a desired product. With advancement in recombinant DNA technology and screening techniques, protein engineering has emerged as an important tool in developing proteins and enzymes of our interest.
